
Fundraising & Events Director (Volunteer) - Registered Charity Board Member

Second Stage Dance is a registered Canadian charity working to make dance more accessible, affordable, and sustainable. Through our programs we focus on reduce financial barriers to participating in dance while extending the life of valuable dance items.
We are seeking a strategic, relationship-focused, and motivated volunteer Fundraising & Events Director to join our Board of Directors and help strengthen the fundraising capacity of our growing charity.
The Fundraising & Events Director will play an important role in helping Second Stage Dance develop sustainable fundraising systems, build donor and corporate relationships, and plan fundraising initiatives that support the organization’s long-term growth.
Working alongside the Board of Directors, this person will help guide fundraising strategy at a governance level along with serve as Events Committee Chair.
Key responsibilities may include:
- Helping develop and guide Second Stage Dance’s overall fundraising strategy
- Supporting individual giving, donor engagement, and monthly giving initiatives
- Helping plan and oversee fundraising campaigns, events, and donation drives
- Oversight for corporate giving initiatives
- Recruiting and engaging volunteers or Advisory Council members to support fundraising initiatives
- Supporting donor stewardship and relationship-building
- Helping identify opportunities within the dance, arts, retail, nonprofit, and philanthropic communities
Previous Board experience is welcome but not required. This role could be a strong fit for someone with experience in fundraising, events, or community engagement.
We are particularly looking for someone who is relationship-oriented, confident contributing strategic ideas, and interested in helping build the fundraising infrastructure of a growing Canadian charity.
This is a remote volunteer Board position with flexible scheduling. The expected time commitment is approximately 3–5 hours per month outside of active fundraising campaigns or event periods, with additional involvement during major initiatives.
