Mannahelp is looking for two reliable and community-minded volunteers to help support our food and essentials donation program.

Donation & Pantry Support Volunteers will help source, receive, pick up, transport, record, and organize donated food, clothing, hygiene items, baby items, school supplies, and household essentials for families and individuals in need.

This role is ideal for someone who is organized, trustworthy, friendly, and passionate about helping the community.

Key Responsibilities

Volunteers will help with:

  • Reaching out to community partners for donations.
  • Picking up approved donations when scheduled.
  • Receiving donor drop-offs during approved times.
  • Supporting Mannahelp’s monthly community donation drop-off at Dymon Storage.
  • Ensuring all donations received at Dymon Storage are transported to the King Street Community Church pantry the same day.
  • Checking that food donations are unopened, safe, and not expired.
  • Recording donations received and taking photos for Mannahelp’s records, transparency, and donor updates.
  • Sorting and organizing donated items in the pantry at King Street Community Church.
  • Notifying Mannahelp leadership when pantry supplies are low.

Monthly Donation Drop-Off

Mannahelp plans to host a monthly community donation drop-off at Dymon Storage.

Preferred Day: One Thursday per month
Time: 12:00 p.m. – 2:00 p.m.
Location: Dymon Storage Boardroom
Address: 70 Taunton Rd. East, Whitby, L1R 3L5

Please note that Mannahelp does not have storage space at Dymon Storage. All donations must be transported to the pantry the same day.

Skills and Qualities Needed

We are looking for volunteers who are:

  • Reliable.
  • Organized and detail-oriented.
  • Friendly and respectful with donors.
  • Comfortable communicating with businesses and community partners.
  • Able to lift and carry light to medium donation boxes.
  • Willing to follow Mannahelp’s donation handling, tracking, and accountability process.
  • Able to work as part of a two-person donation team.

Requirements

  • Driver preferred.
  • Access to a vehicle is strongly preferred.
  • Must be dependable and responsive.
  • Must follow Mannahelp’s donation tracking and pantry procedures.
