Crohn’s and Colitis Canada is looking for passionate volunteers to help connect our Promise with communities across the country. As a Community Connector, you will help build relationships, raise awareness, and identify opportunities for people in your community to get involved and make a meaningful difference.

Your efforts will help support the hundreds of thousands of Canadians living with Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis today, and help move us closer to cures tomorrow.

Role Overview

The Community Connector builds meaningful connections that increase awareness, education, and promotion of fundraising opportunities within your local community.

This role involves virtual and in-person interactions.

This role focuses on strengthening relationships, representing Crohn’s and Colitis Canada at local events, identifying opportunities that enhance community engagement, and supporting greater participation in our fundraising initiatives.

The Community Connector must:

  • Adhere to Crohn’s and Colitis Canada policies and procedures, including the Volunteer Code of Conduct
  • Represent Crohn’s and Colitis Canada at community events, health fairs, and local gatherings
  • Build and nurture relationships with local partners such as schools, service clubs, healthcare providers, clinics, and businesses
  • Identify opportunities to share educational resources about Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis
  • Support and strengthen local fundraising initiatives and community-led events
  • Promote participation in events such as Gutsy Walk
  • Work closely with staff partners and other volunteers to grow community engagement

Time Commitment:

  • Approximately 4- 6 hours per month (flexible scheduling)
  • Occasional evenings or weekends to attend meetings or events
  • Minimum 1-year commitment

What You Bring:

  • Experience with community outreach and networking, and comfort speaking with community members and small groups
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills
  • Excellent attention to detail and the ability to stay organized and responsive to emerging opportunities
  • A genuine interest in community engagement and building partnerships
  • Existing community connections are an asset
  • Ability to take initiative and work independently while collaborating with staff and volunteers
