LEGAL COUNSEL
The Human Rights Legal Support Centre (HRLSC) provides a broad range of free legal assistance to individuals throughout Ontario who have experienced discrimination contrary to Ontario’s Human Rights Code. The HRLSC is seeking applications for a Legal Counsel position to provide legal advice, assistance and representation to HRLSC clients with a focus on early intervention legal support services, HRTO mediations and HRTO hearings, including preliminary and pre-merit hearings, early dismissal hearings, contravention of settlement hearings, and merit hearings, as may be assigned by the Manager, Early Intervention & Mediation Services (EIMS).
This is a full-time, contract opportunity until March 2028 to fill a current vacancy. This position currently offers a hybrid work schedule, requiring a combination of in-person work from the HRLSC’s Toronto head office and remote work from home, each week. This arrangement may be subject to change as part of the HRLSC’s Recovery Plan process. The HRLSC provides a competitive total compensation package. The salary range for this position is $74,400 - $78,570.75. The usual hours of work are 9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday.
