Join us for the 2026 Kidney Walk and help support Canadians living with kidney disease. Whether you're looking to complete community involvement hours, gain event experience, meet new people, or give back to your community, we'd love to have you on our team!

The Kidney Foundation of Canada is a national volunteer organization committed to reducing the burden of kidney disease through funding innovative research, providing education and support, promoting access to quality healthcare, and increasing public awareness and commitment to advancing kidney health and organ donation.

Event Details

We are looking for Event Day Volunteers to support the 2026 Durham Kidney Walk.

Date: Sunday, September 27, 2026

Time: 7:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.

Location: Heydenshore Kiwanis Pavilion #1, 589 Water Street, Whitby

Volunteer Responsibilities

As an Event Day Volunteer, you may assist with:

  • Event set-up and take-down
  • Welcoming and registering walk participants
  • Route marshaling and cheering on walkers
  • Supporting event staff to ensure a safe and successful event

Requirements

  • Minimum age: 13 years old
  • Comfortable working outdoors
  • Able to lift and carry light event materials, if required
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team
  • Previous volunteer experience is welcome but not required

Training & Support

All volunteers will receive event information before the walk, including meeting location and volunteer assignments. On-site orientation and support will be provided by Kidney Foundation staff.
