Emergency Support<ul><li>Participate in ELT and program leadership meetings, contributing to KCN's strategic and cross-program work</li><li>Alternate on-call executive duties with ELT leadership members for after-hours and emergency coveragePost-secondary degree in business, pubic or hospital administration, finance, healthcare administration,or related discipline (MBA or graduate degree considered an asset)</li><li>Minimum of 5 - 7 years of progressive senior leadership in healthcare operations, hospice, palliative care or community care - preferably in a not-for-profit or complex healthcare environment.</li><li>Demonstrated leadership in managing multidisciplinary teams including clinical, administrative, and program staff, fostering collaboration across departments and services.</li><li>Proven track record in operational leadership, resource allocation, quality improvement and regulatory compliance for healthcare programs.</li><li>Experience building and sustaining an engaged, collaborative, and supportive tam culture within large organizations.</li><li>Strong history of partnership with executive leadership (CEO, ELT), driving strategic goals and cross-functional initiatives.</li><li>Strategic oversight and operational input for budget development and management of medium to large budgets in multi-funded or grant-supported environments.</li><li>Experience oversseing health information technology system</li></ul>Skills &amp; The Young Caregivers Association 
 Established in 2003, the Young Caregivers Association (YCA) has transformed the lives of 
young caregivers, the unseen population of family caregivers. We’re the first organization and 
registered charity in Canada dedicated to supporting young caregivers and their families who 
live in rural and urban communities, while building awareness across Canada. 
 
Young caregivers are children, youth, and young adults ages 5 to 25 who provide care for a 
family member due to a chronic illness, disability, mental health concern, substance misuse, or 
socioeconomic factor (e.g., a language barrier). Young caregivers help their family members in 
various ways by caring for their siblings or providing personal, emotional, or financial support. 
 
We collaborate with community partners to bring specialized programs and expertise to 
professionals and organizations across Canada, giving them the tools they need to positively 
impact children, youth and young adults.

Our vision is to see young caregivers and their families recognized, supported, and empowered 
in Ontario so they are all able to achieve their full potential. 
 
 
YCA is currently accepting applications from qualified candidates for volunteer Board Members 
to support the strategic oversight of operations while focusing on sustainability, expansion, and 
excellence. The successful candidate is elected for a three-year term. It is expected that Board 
Members will attend regular board meetings and sit on at least one Board committee. Board 
meetings take place monthly in the evening and are held in person and through Zoom. 
Attendance at committee meetings is required. A typical month requires about 10 hours of time.
