The Central District of The Alliance Canada has an immediate need for a full-time role of&nbsp;Church Development &amp; Clerical Support Administrator. This role reports to the Assistant District Superintendent (ADS) providing administrative assistance with church governance and development projects. Additionally, this role is responsible for providing limited clerical support to other departments.The Central District is one of six districts across Canada that make up the Christian church denomination of The Alliance Canada. The mandate of the Central District Office is to provide oversight of our district churches and pastoral leaders, and to support and resource them in the areas of development, governance, global missions, and local church planting.&nbsp;&nbsp;<h2>RESPONSIBILITIES:</h2><h4>Church Development</h4><ul><li>Guide emerging church teams through governance processes for becoming either developing or organized churches</li><li>Assist churches with compiling their charitable application for submission to CRA </li><li>Liaise between churches and the District’s Bylaw Committee for the review of church bylaws </li><li>Work alongside the ADS to develop practical resources to equip and train church boards.</li><li>Coordinate the PEAK program (church development coaching program), assisting with scheduling, tracking, and record keeping.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;</li></ul><h4>Church Records&nbsp;</h4><ul><li>Make updates to church information in Rock RMS and Planning Centre Online</li><li>Collection and filing of church annual reports and insurance policies. </li><li>Reviewing insurance policies against the District’s Insurance Requirements Policy to ensure churches have required types of coverage</li><li>Filing of church documentation, both hardcopy and electronic formats.</li></ul><h4>Clerical Support</h4><ul><li>Assisting the Finance department with issuing of tax receipts, scanning and filing of invoices, and data entry.</li><li>Provide clerical support to other department directors when needed.</li><li>Administer the Legacy Fund program, including tracking applications and committee decisions in Monday.com, and sending out funding responses to applicants.</li><li>Overseeing the purchase and stocking of kitchenette supplies.</li><li>Coordinate meeting lunches when needed including ordering, set up and clean up </li><li>Participate on a quarterly basis as a member of the National District Support Team, meeting online with administrative personnel from other districts to share best practices and resources.</li></ul><h2>QUALIFICATIONS:</h2><ul><li>Bachelors or diploma in business administration, office administration or related field</li><li>Certificate in non-profit management/administration, or understanding of charitable governance a definite asset.</li><li>Understanding The Alliance Canada (or similar denominational) governance structure is a definite asset.</li><li>Administratively strong with demonstrated organizational and critical thinking skills.</li><li>Aptitude for developing and maintaining systems.</li><li>A friendly and professional demeanor.</li><li>A conscientious and collaborative team player with a proactive approach to service.</li><li>The ability to prioritize and execute a variety of competing tasks while remaining calm and collected.</li><li>The ability to maintain a high degree of confidentiality and discretion.</li><li>Ability to navigate and utilize various software, databases and online platforms such as: Google Workspace, Planning Centre Online, Monday.com, Adobe Acrobat Pro, and Microsoft and Mac applications.</li></ul><h2>EMPLOYMENT TERMS:</h2><ul><li>$52,000 - $56,000 starting annual wage, based on experience, skills and knowledge.</li><li>This position works 37.5 hours per week, Monday through Friday, in our office in Burlington.</li><li>Flexible work schedule (e.g. 8:00am - 4:00pm; 8:30am - 4:30pm; or 9:00am - 5:00pm). </li><li>Generous vacation policy that starts at 3 weeks per year.</li><li>Participation in a defined contribution pension plan.</li><li>Extended health and dental benefits and insurance plan.</li></ul><h2>APPLICATION PROCESS:</h2>Interested parties should submit a resume and a cover letter which outlines your interest in the role and why you feel your skills and experience make you a great candidate, to the attention of Carrie McFarland, Director of Human Resources at&nbsp; <a href="mailto:resumes@centraldistrict.ca" target="_blank">resumes@centraldistrict.ca</a>.&nbsp;Only those candidates selected for an interview will be contacted.
