We are looking for a Senior Manager, National Corporate Development to join our team at 
Make-A-Wish Canada. Reporting to the Director, National Corporate Development, the Senior 
Manager is responsible for securing national corporate commitments to support the mission, with 
an annual revenue target of $1,000,000. The role focuses on new business development, 
corporate gifts, sponsorships, events, in-kind contributions, and cause marketing, while also 
supporting chapter offices in expanding regional partnerships into national opportunities. 

This role can be based out of Toronto or Pickering and is a full-time, 18-month contract, hybrid 
position. 


 
 
WHAT YOU WILL DO 

 • Play an integral role in planning and implementing an impactful, growth-oriented corporate 
fundraising portfolio. 

 • Strategically manage and generate a national corporate pipeline of $1,000,000 of existing 
and new business acquisition through opportunities that can include cause marketing, 
sponsorship, employee engagement, in-kind donations, and corporate philanthropy. 

 • Identify leads, cultivate, close and steward five to six figure corporate gifts. 
 • Collaborate and genuinely build relationships with team members and other regional and 

national departments. 
 • Develop and write compelling funding proposals that are well-designed and meet brand 

guidelines. 
 • Work innovatively to design corporate partner activations that support a partner’s ability to 

communicate the importance of their partnership with Make-A-Wish Canada. 
 • Lead, create and present pitches and proposals to corporate partners. 
 • Possess strong ambassadorial qualities. 
 • Act as a representative for the Foundation within the corporate community and beyond. 
 • Utilize strong administrative and computer skills to complete all administrative and data 

management tasks associated with fundraising on a timely basis. This includes using 
Salesforce to input and track donor activities. 

 • Other duties as assigned. 
 
WHAT YOU BRING 

 • Post-secondary education, preferably in a Marketing or a Business Program, or an 
equivalent combination of training, education and experience. 

 • 5-7 years of related experience, ideally in the corporate philanthropy sector or 
sales/marketing field. 

 • Possess a hunter mentality with a proven track record in prospecting, cultivating, engaging 
and retaining corporate partners. 

 • Solid track record of working with national corporate partners in securing gifts of 
$50,000-$100,000+. 

 • Demonstrated experience in managing a prospect pipeline while implementing strategies 
to reach and surpass revenue goals. 

 • Strong verbal and written communication skills for proposal writing, developing and 
delivering presentations, and for managing daily interactions with team members and 
partners. 

 • Exhibit a strong degree of initiative, problem solving and decision-making skills. 
 • Competency in the ability to manage through ambiguity and changing priorities. 
 • Creative: ability to conceptualize new ideas and see a bigger picture or opportunities to 

increase support. 
 • Maintain outstanding time management skills and the ability to prioritize. 
 • Experience with CRM (ideally Salesforce) is a strong asset. 
 • A clear Criminal Background Check will be required. 

YOUR WORK ENVIRONMENT 
 • Hybrid work environment (2 days in-office, 3 days remote per week). Primary 

accountabilities are carried out in the National Office and at home; however, you may be 


 
required to occasionally work outside normal office hours to attend corporate events 
representing the Foundation. 

 • Occasional day/overnight travel.

 • Work under pressure of tight deadlines, with a high-volume workload, and with multiple 

demands &amp; changing priorities.

Bingo Volunteers 

We are looking for volunteers to deliver food parcels to our ‘Food 4 Thought’ program participants across Durham Region. Food 4 Thought delivers food to young pregnant mothers throughout Durham region &nbsp;The time commitment is 1-2 hours every Tuesday, with pickup of parcels at our Ajax office at 12:00 pm. Deliveries are anywhere between Pickering and Bowmanville, but we will divide up routes to make it as short and efficient as possible. Teams will need to use a cell phone to call/text the recipient when they are on their way and when they arrive. Volunteers do not go into the recipients’ homes – they just deliver and allow the recipient to pick up their food parcel outside their door.

We are devoted to improving the safety and experience of women and their children as they proceed through the complex family court system. As an organization, we provide direct services to hundreds of women and their children across Ontario every year and share our expertise with thousands of service providers through training programs, resources, tools, research, and mentoring.&nbsp;Description:The Board of Directors is a governance-structured board, as reflected in its functionality.
