ASSOCIATION MANAGER

The York Region Law Association (YRLA) is a professional legal organization that serves the entire legal community in York Region by addressing legal issues relevant to the practice of law. The YRLA operates the regional courthouse law library; has various standing legal committees that give important input at various stakeholder meetings; offers continuing legal education and mentorship programs; and hosts various social and networking events to its members. There are 653 lawyer members in the York Regional Law Association.

The YRLA is seeking an Association Manager for a 12-month part-time contract position (25 hours per week) to help manage the YRLA day-to-day operations and address membership issues; advertise and promote the YRLA through the website and various social media platforms; assist the Board of Directors in scheduling and organizing Board meetings; and to help run / hold professional development programs and social events.

Location: 50 Eagle Street, Newmarket (hybrid: in-office / work from home).

Compensation: $39,000.00 plus 4% in vacation pay.

Qualifications Required: A suitable candidate must have excellent organizational, budgeting, and planning skills. Candidates must have strong communication skills and be capable of working independently. In addition, an ideal candidate will be adept with various software such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Adobe Acrobat Pro, and Zoom and be very comfortable with using social media (LinkedIn, Facebook, and X) / website editing software. Having prior experience working with various Associations and Board of Directors is definitely an asset.
