Reporting to the Board of Directors, this individual is responsible for the overall health of the school and community.This role blends strategic leadership with hands-on administration. The Principal leads the teaching and office staff, supports school committees, and serves as a key liaison to the board, families, and broader school community. A collaborative spirit, servant-leadership mindset, and heart for mentorship are essential.Specifically, in this role you’d be responsible for: &nbsp;<h4>Instructional Leadership</h4><ul><li>Support implementation of the school’s academic vision and goals.</li><li>Ensure instructional practices align with curriculum standards and best practices.</li><li>Support teachers with curriculum content and instructional methodologies.</li><li>Foster relationships with families to create a collaborative approach to support student success.</li><li>Analyze student achievement data, including MAP Growth assessments, to inform curriculum planning and instructional strategies that support student growth.</li></ul><h4>Leadership &amp; Culture</h4><ul><li>Serve as the lead spokesperson and ambassador for the school’s mission, vision, and values.</li><li>Foster a joyful, collaborative, and Christ-centered school culture.</li><li>Model servant leadership and support a spirit of unity among staff, students, and families.</li></ul><h4>Staff Supervision &amp; Development</h4><ul><li>Oversee the teaching and office support staff, promoting accountability and professional growth.</li><li>Lead regular staff meetings and professional development efforts.</li><li>Conduct performance evaluations and plan for future staffing needs in collaboration with HR and the Board.</li></ul><h4>Student Experience</h4><ul><li>Oversee student discipline and culture in collaboration with staff.</li><li>Support the Director of Spiritual Life with chapel and discipleship initiatives.</li><li>Organize key student programs: safety education, Christmas concerts, graduation, etc.</li></ul><h4>Board &amp; Committee Collaboration</h4><ul><li>Serve as a liaison to the Board and attend monthly board meetings.</li><li>Collaborate with committees across transportation, maintenance, HR, and policy.</li><li>Ensure operational alignment with board governance school values.</li></ul><h4>Operations &amp; Administration</h4><ul><li>Determine the annual school calendar and key dates.</li><li>Approve report cards and support academic reporting processes.</li><li>Manage staff attendance records (in partnership with the Finance Manager).</li><li>Ensure adherence to health and safety regulations, including fire/lockdown drills.</li></ul><h2>Qualifications</h2><h4>Required</h4><ul><li>Evidence of a vibrant Christian faith and active membership in a local church.</li><li>Commitment to Christian education and alignment with the TBCS Mission, Vision, and Belief Statements.</li><li>Leadership or administrative experience, preferably in a school or ministry context.</li><li>Self-motivated, energetic, and organized with the ability to plan ahead.</li><li>Able to calmly engage in transparent and responsible decision-making, sometimes on the spot.</li><li>Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.</li></ul><h4>Preferred</h4><ul><li>Experience in teaching or school leadership roles</li><li>OCT Certification (Ontario College of Teachers)</li><li>PQP Certification (Principal’s Qualification Program)</li><li>CSTC (Christian School Teacher’s Certificate)</li><li>Familiarity with the Ontario education system (especially private/independent)</li><li>Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Adobe; adaptable to new technologies and school systems</li></ul>If you meet some but not all of these requirements, we still encourage you to apply.
