In this role, you’ll provide non-clinical one-on-one and group support to individuals accessing substance use and housing services in-person, on site at the West Ottawa Homeless and Addiction Recovery Team (HART) Hub in Bells Corners with occasional shifts at PSO main office at The Bronson Centre. This position may also provide some remote work opportunities, as assigned by the Community Programs Manager.&nbsp;This position requires someone who has firsthand experience accessing health services for their own mental health and substance use health and who is skilled at listening deeply, holding space, and supporting others, as well as being comfortable sharing their experience in meaningful and intentional way. You’ll offer non-judgmental support, helping people feel heard and understood during what could be a very difficult experience. Using peer support practices, you’ll walk alongside individuals in their wellness journey, offering connection, information, and hope.You will be part of a multidisciplinary team formed of many different partner organizations to create and uphold a stigma-free, relationship-focused, compassionate, and collaborative environment for people seeking to access healthcare for their substance use and housing needs.
