We are seeking a volunteer who wants to gain experience by running one (or more?) of our key fundraising events during the year, namely, a well established golf tournament, and a well established gala in the Brampton / Caledon area.

Previous volunteers who ran these events for several years are still engaged and available to provide all historical and strategic information about how these events have been run successfully in the past, but all events can be evolved to suit what may be better in the future!

We are a 49 year old non-profit that generates funds to support agricultural development projects in rural/remote parts of a few countries in Central and South America.

About the RoleEnvironmental Defence Canada (EDC) is a leading Canadian environmental advocacy organization that works with government, industry and individuals to defend clean water, a safe climate and healthy communities. EDC is looking for a Regional Coordinator that would support our efforts to engage communities in Durham Region (Whitby, Ajax, Pickering, Oshawa, Uxbridge, Clarington, Scugog). This is a 2 year contract role which is part-time with about 8-16 hours per week at a rate of $24 an hour.&nbsp;LocationIt is preferred that the applicant resides in Whitby, Oshawa, Ajax or Pickering and requires access to a vehicle. It is a hybrid role with flexible hours and site-visits across the region when necessary.&nbsp;Purpose of the RoleWe know that community connection and civic engagement is at the heart of real and effective environmental change. By connecting people with nature and neighbours, we can build more resilient communities in a changing climate.
