Join our passionate&nbsp; team and help us to achieve great things in our community!The SWSE Bilingual Program Coordinator oversees the YMCA Summer Work Student Exchange, a national exchange program offering youth the opportunity to improve their second official language skills while gaining meaningful employment experience. The role manages the recruitment, training, and support of Local and Support Coordinators to ensure participants, aged 16 to 17, receive engaging placements, homestays, and weekly program activities in their host communities.The position develops and implements outreach strategies to achieve program targets, maintains relationships with employers and community stakeholders, and ensures compliance with program agreements and reporting requirements. Problem-solve challenges, resolve conflicts, and provide operational guidance to support the successful delivery of the exchange experience, while fostering an inclusive and culturally enriching environment for all participants.In this role, you will:<ul><li>Develop and implement a regional promotion and communication plan to achieve provincial youth recruitment targets representative of the demographics of Canada.</li><li>Hire, orient, train, support, and supervise an effective staff team of Local Coordinators who directly support participants in their host communities, and Support Coordinators who act as team leads.</li><li>Provide service to participants, hosts/families, employers, and the general public in both official languages. Problem-solve issues, resolve conflicts as they arise, and keep the Manager informed.</li><li>Follow financial systems and maintain financial reports in line with YMCA policies and procedures. Submit invoices, expense forms, and statistics to both the local and national offices in a timely and accurate manner.</li><li>Comply with all terms of the government contribution agreement and contracts, including provincial targets, regional expenditure of funds, and financial and statistical reporting.</li><li>Perform other duties as assigned.</li></ul>You bring:<ul><li>Post secondary education in Youth Work, Education, Social Work or Services, Community Development, or related fields, or equivalent experience.</li><li>Three years of experience in program delivery and team leadership/staff management.</li><li>Experience working with budgets is an asset.</li><li>Knowledge and experience with facilitation, training, and/or experiential learning.</li><li>Ability to use Microsoft Office and cloud-based technology.</li><li>Bilingual in French and English (oral and written).</li><li>Excellent human resources management skills (such as hiring, performance support, etc.).</li><li>Knowledge and ability to integrate anti-racism, anti-oppression, critical disability, LGBTQ2S-positive, trauma-informed, harm reduction, and strengths-based principles into practice.</li><li>Excellent interpersonal and relationship building skills; ability to establish rapport and communication with staff, program participants, families, volunteers, community members, and employers.</li><li>Valid driver’s license and willingness to drive for work.</li><li>Ability to work flexible hours and travel for up to one week at a time, several times a year</li><li>Excellent understanding of diversity, equity, inclusion and belonging including the ability to identify and address barriers, work effectively with diverse stakeholders, and integrate equity into program design.</li></ul>What you need to succeed:<ul><li>Commitment to the YMCA’s Mission, Vision &amp; Values</li><li>Focus on the health, safety and wellbeing of all children, youth, and vulnerable people in YMCA programs including understanding legal and moral obligations related to reporting suspected child abuse to Child Protection Services</li><li>YMCA Competencies: Accountable, Relationship-Builder, Improvement-Orientated, Team Player &amp; Leader, Equity and Wellbeing Promoter</li></ul>Why work for the YMCA?The YMCA of Greater Toronto is a charity that ignites the potential in people, helping them grow, lead, and give back to their communities.
