
Career Coach
Job Responsibilities:
- Conduct client assessments and develop Employment Action Plans
- Provide one-on-one career coaching, employment counselling, and ongoing case management
- Support clients with job readiness, résumé and cover letter development, interview preparation, career exploration, and workplace success
- Administer employment and career assessments and coordinate referrals to community supports and training opportunities
- Process Employment Ontario (EO) programs and applications, including work placements and Second Career, where applicable
- Facilitate workshops, information sessions, and group training on employment-related topics
- Develop and maintain relationships with employers to identify job opportunities, support placements, and promote Employment Ontario (EO) services
- Participate in outreach, networking events, job fairs, and community partnerships
- Match clients to employment opportunities and monitor placements to support successful outcomes
- Maintain accurate client records, case notes, contracts, databases, reports, and documentation in compliance with funding requirements
- Assist with program development, marketing, promotional activities, evaluations, and continuous service improvement
- Participate in team meetings, staff training, and other duties that support program and agency objectives
- Other relevant duties as assigned for team or Agency
Key Qualifications:
- Post-secondary education in Human Services, Social Work, Career Counselling, Business, or a related field
- Minimum two (2) years' experience delivering employment or career services
- Strong knowledge of the Canadian labour market, employment trends, workplace practices, and job search strategies
- Experience supporting individuals facing multiple barriers to employment
- Proven ability to build employer partnerships, facilitate workshops, and achieve performance targets
- Strong interpersonal, coaching, presentation, organizational, and customer service skills
- Knowledge of Employment Ontario (EO), Ontario Works (OW), and community resources is an asset
- Demonstrated commitment to equity, diversity, inclusion, cultural competence, and anti-racist practices
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with strong computer proficiency, including MS Office, databases, virtual platforms, and social media
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively while maintaining confidentiality
- Valid Ontario driver's licence, reliable vehicle, flexibility to work across locations and occasional evenings/weekends, and ability to meet remote work requirements
- Additional language(s) are an asset
- Must provide vulnerable sector police check, to be obtained at own expense
- Flexibility to work from a variety of locations
