Wendat Community Programs seeks new members to join the Board of Directors.

Who We Are:

Wendat’s roots are in the Community Mental Health field, providing a range of mental health programs locally and across the North Simcoe Muskoka region since 1987. In 2007, the Ministry of Health approved Wendat as a Community Support Service to provide seniors health care programs.

In 2016, Wendat completed construction of the Lorna Tomlinson Residence for Seniors in Penetanguishene and currently houses 21 frail, low-income seniors. Within our two divisions, we operate 10 services/programs. Wendat employs 75 staff, most working in the Midland-Penetang area and a small number providing regional programs across North Simcoe and Muskoka.

Requirements:

The Board of Directors meets from 6:30 to 7:30 pm on the first Wednesday of every month. Each Board member is also required to join one board committee. Typically, the time commitment is 2 – 4 hours per month.

Anyone with an interest or passion for community mental health services or community support services for seniors are welcome to apply.

Wendat’s Board should be representative of the populations and communities we serve. Therefore, we are seeking people with lived experience or caregivers/family members of people with lived experience using community mental health or community support services. We also seek FNIMUI and Francophone community members.

There is an application process which includes completing an application package and an interview with current Board members. For more information, please contact Andrea Abbott-Kokosin, Executive Director at 705-526-1305 ext. 1223 or andrea@wendatprograms.com
