As a member of the board, you will help guide the organization through an era of exciting growth and transformation — including the fundraising, and realization of Canada’s first Animal Wellness Hub – a one-stop, affordable, all-inclusive, walk-in shelter, hospital and community space that will transform our existing campus. SheridanLife Radio, a student-run not-for-profit campus and community station, is seeking a dedicated volunteer to serve as Board Treasurer. The Treasurer oversees the organization’s financial management, helps ensure transparency and accountability, and supports the Board in maintaining sound financial practices. Responsibilities include reviewing quarterly financial reports, contributing to budget planning, and providing guidance on fiscal policy.The Board meets quarterly, with occasional email or virtual communication as needed between meetings. This is an excellent opportunity to gain experience in non-profit governance and financial oversight while supporting a creative, student-driven media organization.

community’s needs with a focus on children and family? OPCC is seeking individuals with the right 

mix of skills and ability to join our Board of Directors. 

Oakville Parent-Child Centre (OPCC) provides services and programs that make a difference for 

parents and families within the Oakville community. OPCC has been helping families with young 

children since 1980. We are a registered charity that has grown from one program in a church 

basement to a multi-service child and family centre and provincially recognized EarlyON Centre with 

several locations, outreach sites and a wide variety of programs. 

OPCC is a policy board dedicated to ensuring the mission of the organization is being upheld, the 

programs and services are responsive to community need and that the highest standards of 

professionalism, accountability and fiduciary responsibility are upheld. 


Board meetings are held in person, with the option to join virtually when necessary, approximately 6 

times per year on Monday evenings with a requirement to participate in one subcommittee of the 

Board virtually (Human Resource, Finance and Audit, Governance and Nominations) throughout the 

year. 


At this time OPCC is recruiting the talent of individuals with a skill sets in Finance and or Business 

Development/Social Venture, Social Impact and/or Diversity and Inclusion. Individuals interested in 

this leadership role desire to assist OPCC in its continued journey to grow and excel in family support 

and child development.
