Target Hiring Salary: $22 per hour

Overview:

St. Anne’s Parish is seeking a part time Youth Minister, to implement outreach and social retreats that meet the spiritual formation of youth. This position reports to the Pastor and provides leadership and direction for the yearly activities of the parish Youth Ministry, as well as advocacy for the youth.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare content and oversee bi-weekly youth ministry program focusing on catechetical, issue, social and liturgically focused nights, and themes
  • Recruit, develop, support and direct CORE team volunteers to run the ministry
  • Seek to visit and outreach a parish school on weekly basis and establish a rapport with staff and students (in particular grades 5-8)
  • Provide opportunities for CORE team members for annual training/formation and an annual retreat experience for spiritual growth
  • Ensure communication and outreach to parents of youth, classes in schools that cover the ministry age groups of parish offerings, and parish communication of ministry offerings (this may include some modest social media engagement)
  • Discern and, if applicable, involve ministry in potentially larger collaborative experiences (i.e. joined parish retreats, Edge Camp, etc.)
  • Foster an environment that sets the stage for establishing a high school-aged ministry in the fall of 2026
  • Other duties, as required

General Requirements:

  • Have an education/formation/training background suited for the work required in this position or be prepared to develop if required
  • Minimum 3 years of related experience; Catholic youth ministry experience is an asset
  • Have a mature spiritual life
  • Be in full communion with the Catholic Church
  • Have a keen sense of the importance of parish community
  • Be highly organized and have competent administrative skills
  • Able to effectively balance multiple priorities and projects
  • Strong interpersonal/communication skills
  • Able to work collaboratively as a member of the parish pastoral team
  • Have an above average knowledge in the use of technology such as social media
  • Have fundamental computer skills in documents, MS Office, PowerPoints, web navigation
  • Experience in music is an asset
  • Able to work evening and weekends
  • Have a valid driver’s license and access to a reliable vehicle
  • Must be legally entitled to work in Canada
  • A criminal background check will be required of the successful applicant
