About the role: Under direction of the Housing Programs Coordinator, you will be part of a multi- disciplinary team with the primary focus of assisting our clients find and maintain safe and appropriate housing. You will work with youth aged 16-24 stabilize in housing of their choice. Your role will include assessment, reporting, case management, hands-on coaching, advocacy and collaboration with stakeholders and funders. Utilizing the teams-based approach to Housing Based Case Management in this role you will support your caseload as well as direct and indirectly support the caseload of your team members. In this role you will utilize a housing first philosophy, and work as part of a broader team of Youth Housing Based Case Managers (HBCMs) in the City of Ottawa working toward ending youth homelessness in Ottawa.

• University or College Diploma in relevant field, or equivalent experience
• Knowledge of the Housing First approach to homelessness, Ontario Land-Lord Tenant Act, SPDAT
Assessment, and HIFIS
• Minimum 2 years experience working with marginalized individuals
• Experience working with Youth at risk of homelessness and/or Justice Involvement
• Skills to work as a member of a team, supporting individuals from other caseloads as needs arise
• Strong organizational skills prioritizing multiple demands in a possible high-stress environment
• Bilingualism is a strong asset

• Be extremely open-minded and non-judgemental as you serve a clientele who experience a variety
• Liaise and mediate with landlords, neighbours, etc.
• Have a flexible schedule with availability for some evening, weekend and on-call work
• Work at home, in the office and in the community as needed
• Have ownership of a vehicle .You are required to transport clients in your own vehicle)
• Exercise extreme flexibility to accommodate fluctuating and varied program needs
• Participate in trainings, meetings and supervisions as required
