About BCCFSS
BCCFSS is a community-based organization dedicated to strengthening Black families, supporting youth, and creating pathways to opportunity.
We are excited to launch It Takes a Village Career Pathways, a new initiative designed to connect Black youth and young adults with mentors, workplaces, and career exploration opportunities across the Greater Toronto Area.
We are seeking a passionate and organized Volunteer Youth Career Pathways Coordinator to help build and grow this exciting initiative.

Connecting Black Youth to Careers, Mentors, and Opportunity.
It Takes a Village Career Pathways helps Black youth and young adults explore career possibilities, build professional networks, develop workplace readiness skills, and connect with mentors and employers across a variety of industries.
Participants may receive support with:
- Career exploration
- Resume development and review
- Interview preparation
- Workplace readiness training
- Professional networking
- Mentorship opportunities
- Career planning and goal setting
- Career exploration placements
Career fields may include:
- Law & Justice
- Healthcare
- Education & Child Care
- Government & Public Service
- Technology
- Business & Finance
- Community & Nonprofit Leadership
Position Summary
The Youth Career Pathways Coordinator will play a key role in supporting the development and implementation of this exciting initiative.
The successful candidate will help build relationships with employers, schools, mentors, and community partners while supporting youth in accessing meaningful career exploration opportunities.
This role is ideal for someone passionate about youth development, mentorship, workforce development, education, equity, and community engagement.
Responsibilities
- Support recruitment and onboarding of youth participants
- Build relationships with employers, mentors, schools, and community partners
- Coordinate career exploration placements
- Assist with matching youth to mentors and opportunities
- Support outreach and promotion of the program
- Maintain participant and partnership records
- Coordinate communication with stakeholders
- Assist with workshops, networking events, and information sessions
- Track participation and program outcomes
- Support ongoing program development and growth
Qualifications
We welcome applicants from diverse backgrounds who are passionate about creating opportunities for youth.
Experience in one or more of the following areas is considered an asset:
- Youth development
- Education
- Social services
- Workforce development
- Human resources
- Community engagement
- Program coordination
- Career counselling
- Nonprofit leadership
Strong communication, organizational, and relationship-building skills are essential.
