This is a great opportunity for someone who has some experience in Wordpress and is looking for experience in a front-end web/developer role.

What You Will Do:

As a Technology Committee Member, your primary responsibilities will be for the design, implementation, maintenance, and upgrading of our organizational Wordpress site (http://projectembo.org/). You will assist in the publishing of new content, defining requirements, implementing new features and visualizing and creating website architecture in order to shape the visual platform of all Project TEMBO content.

Tasks may include:

  • Leveraging WordPress community and our vendors to adjust theme/ plugins
  • Troubleshooting content issues and update content on the live website
  • Assisting other committee members with content publishing
  • Collaborating with other committee members to identify business needs to inform website design and functionality
  • Adjusting front-end UI as needed
  • Selecting, testing, implementing and upgrading plug-ins as needed.
  • Conceptualizing visuals based on requirements
  • Maintaining website architecture
  • If capable, managing website back-end including database and server integration
  • Attend monthly committee meetings and contribute to general operations and strategy discussions


We are looking for a volunteer commitment of approximately 2-3 hours per week. All work can be completed remotely.

Who You Are:

As a Committee Member, you will have the following:

  • Familiarity with web design software and technologies including WordPress and Elementor
  • An understanding of website architecture
  • A keen eye for aesthetics and details
  • Knowledge of front-end technologies including CSS3, JavaScript, HTML5
  • Ability to project manage
  • Good communication skills
  • Highly organized and resourceful
  • Ability to take initiative and work collaboratively in a team setting
  • Passionate about using your expertise as a part of an organization that gives back to marginalized groups

Required degree level

  • Experienced (Non Manager)
