Role Description:

Women Build and Next Generation Build is a celebrated Habitat for Humanity GTA initiative that brings people together to empower one another, support affordable homeownership, and strengthen local communities. As an Event Assistant Volunteer, you will play a key role in enhancing the Women Build experience and contributing to Habitat GTA’s mission by supporting both event preparation and participant engagement.

Position Summary:

Event Assistant Volunteers support the smooth coordination of the Women Build event by helping with setup, participant check-in, directing guests, and ensuring activities run on schedule. This is a non-building role, focused on event support and creating a welcoming, organized, and positive experience for all participants.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist with morning coffee service, as well as stage, tent, and station setup and clean-up
  • Support registration, including handing out t-shirts and name tags and directing participants to authorized parking
  • Help with lunch setup, maintain the buffet area, and assist with clean-up afterward
  • Prepare swag bags for Women Build event participants
  • Assist with end-of-day pack-up and clean-up

What You Bring:

  • Strong commitment to customer service
  • Able to work effectively with a diverse team
  • Excellent verbal communication skills and ability to engage with staff and event participants
  • Positive attitude, friendly, and enthusiastic
  • Understanding of Habitat GTA’s mission and a desire to promote it
  • Comfortable working outdoors and on uneven ground
  • Previous event experience is an asset
