Position: Member, Board of Directors
The Wexford Residence Inc. thewexford.org is an accredited long term care facility in Scarborough with 166 long-term care beds as well as 90 residential rental units for seniors able to live independently, and an Active Seniors Centre. The Wexford is owned and operated by a charitable, not-for-profit corporation with a Board of Directors.
We are currently seeking a volunteer Board member to join our team of very capable Directors. Experience in a regulated health profession, human resources, information technology or real estate development would be particularly relevant. Governance experience would also be an asset, though not mandatory.
Directors are appointed for an initial term of three years, and can serve a maximum of three terms. All Board members attend monthly evening Board meetings between September and June. These take place either virtually or in person at the Wexford location on Lawrence Ave. East near Pharmacy Ave. Members must commit to attending at least some of the meetings in person. Members are also expected to participate in at least one Board Committee (Finance, Continuous Quality Improvement, Redevelopment or Governance and Risk Management). Time commitments would typically amount to about 4 to 6 hours per month.
Interested candidates are asked to submit a covering letter outlining why they are interested in serving on the Board and how they would contribute, as well as a resume or summary of career/life experience.
