
Website Manager (volunteer)
The Website Manager (volunteer) is a member of the Operational Team and reports to the President and Director of Communications. The Website Manager oversees the management, maintenance and optimization of UNACTO’s website. They ensure the website is user-friendly, up-to-date, secure and aligned with UNACTO’s brand.
We are excited to have the Website Manager lead a planned website refresh, where we will, in an agile way, focus on incrementally modernizing the design, improving user experience, and ensuring the site meets evolving organizational needs. The successful applicant will conduct UX/UI audits, implement improvements to optimize user journeys, and reorganize content.
This role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams to support content updates and troubleshoot issues.

Key Areas of Responsibility
- Gradually enhancing the current website and collaborating with the President and website committee to help bring the long-term vision to life
- Managing and maintaining the website’s functionality and performance
- Collaborating with content creators to update and optimize site content
- Monitoring website traffic and user behaviour to inform improvements
- Implementing SEO strategies to maximize site visibility
- Overseeing website analytics and generating reports
- Managing web hosting and coordinating with external vendors where necessary
- Troubleshooting and resolving technical issues
- Ensuring compliance with web accessibility standards
- Other relevant duties as required
Desired Skills
- A genuine interest in the United Nations mission and SDGs
- Proficiency in CMS platforms, especially Wix
- Familiarity with the Google Suite, Microsoft Office Suite, Slack and Zoom
- Some knowledge of HTML, CSS, and basic JavaScript
- Familiarity with SEO best practices and web analytics tools
- Experience with website security protocols and performance optimization
- UX/design software, e.g., Figma, Adobe Creative Suite, Canva
- Basic graphic design and image editing skills are desirable
- An ability to work independently with little or no daily supervision
- Strong interpersonal skills and a positive, flexible, team-oriented and responsive attitude to open communication
- Time management skills—prioritizing, scheduling, adapting—and a commitment to deadlines
