
Walk Chair
WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING
•With support: recruit, train and oversee a committee of volunteers and filling the additional committee member positions, if required
•Scheduling and chairing monthly committee meetings, with regular phone calls/emails to follow up on action items
•Manage realistic budget and critical path (templates provided)
•Communicating with CF Canada Staff Lead status of fundraising, recruitment and budget goals and ensuring all are achieved
•Ensure health and safety plan adheres to Public Health & Safety Guidelines based on CF Canada information provided
•Logistics management (or delegate to committee member),determinizing logistical needs for the site (food distribution, route layout, set-up and tear down, safety and security)
•Build event day schedule (templates provided)
•Arrange for all necessary supplies, equipment and guest speaker(s)
•Identify, liaise and book technical support and suppliers (if required)
•Ensure all post-event wrap up activities are completed
TRAINING & SUPPORT
This role leads a team responsible for fundraising and logistics. For this reason, we have a robust training and support plan in place for you:
•Initial training and regular, ongoing support from a designated CF Canada Staff Lead
•Resources to support participants and fundraising goals (guides, templates, fundraising pages, toolkits)
•Resources to support development & execution of Walk logistics
•Access to online volunteer application and scheduling system (with training & support)
COMMITMENT
• February – April approx. 2-3 hr/week with monthly committee meetings, weekly email communication and some independent work
•An increase in hours throughout the month of May, approx. 3-4 hr/week
•Available all day on Walk Day, May 31, 2026
