Join us at our upcoming Youth Public Speaking Event at Cambie Community Centre! For our next event, we are looking for an Event Support Assistant to assist with event coordination and engage with attendees throughout the event.

Vancouver Region Educational Services (VRES) is a registered non-profit organization committed to providing free and affordable educational services to the Vancouver Region and beyond. VRES provides online and in-person educational services for learners of all ages, including K-12, adults, and seniors.

The Event Support Assistant is responsible for:

• Greeting and directing participants, students, and families upon arrival
• Setting up event booths, activity stations, and décor before the event begins
• Preparing and organizing materials for activities and tracking inventory
• Run activity stations, operating presentation slides, and engage with kids and families throughout the event.
• Being an audience for workshop attendees while giving meaningful feedback for improvement if needed
• Taking photos of event highlights and activities for VRES social media channels
• Assisting with takedown of all materials at the end of the event

Who We're Looking For:
• Minimum age: 12 years or up
• Fluent in English
• Able to independently commute to and arrive at the event location on time (Need help getting here? VRES covers travel costs upon request)
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced event setting
• Able to fully commit to the scheduled event timings
• Comfortable interacting with children, family members, and community members
• Takes initiative, follows instructions, and can work independently without close supervision
