At JABC, the Vice President, Development is a critical leadership role at JABC, responsible for developing and executing innovative revenue generation strategies to advance the organization’s mission. Reporting to the President & CEO, this position leads a team of fundraising professionals and oversees corporate partnerships, major gifts, government funding, signature fundraising initiatives, and innovative revenue campaigns. The VP also oversees the strategic growth and success of the Business Laureates of British Columbia Hall of Fame program, JABC’s flagship recognition and fundraising initiative celebrating outstanding business leadership in the province.
The VP collaborates with the Board of Directors, senior leadership, and external stakeholders to drive sustainable growth and achieve JABC’s ambitious strategic goal of reaching over 100,000 youth in British Columbia.

Primary Responsibilities Leadership & Team Management
- Inspire and lead a diverse team of fundraising professionals, fostering collaboration, innovation, and excellence.
- Act as a trusted advisor to the CEO, Board of Directors, and senior leaders on revenue development strategies.
- Represent JABC with confidence at donor meetings, community events, and partner engagements to elevate the organization's profile.
Strategic Planning & Operational Management
- Develop and implement forward-thinking revenue strategies that align with JABC's mission and growth objectives.
- Monitor key performance indicators and adapt strategies to ensure revenue targets are consistently met or exceeded.
- Oversee efficient budget management and resource allocation within the fundraising team.
- Collaborate with the VP Finance and Operations to align financial planning and reporting for fundraising initiatives, ensuring transparency and compliance.
- Leverage CRM systems like Salesforce to optimize donor tracking and engagement strategies.
Revenue Generation & Stakeholder Engagement
- Build and deepen relationships with corporate sponsors, major donors, and government stakeholders to drive sustainable revenue growth.
- Champion donor stewardship initiatives, ensuring supporters are recognized, engaged, and inspired by JABC’s mission.
- Innovate new fundraising campaigns and events to attract diverse revenue streams and expand JABC’s donor base.
- Set and achieve measurable annual and multi-year revenue growth targets, incorporating innovative approaches to diversify revenue streams.
- Collaborate with the leaders of the Community Engagement and Programs teams to explore sponsorship opportunities through established partnerships.
- Provide strategic oversight and leadership for the Business Laureates of British Columbia Hall of Fame program, including sponsorship development, donor and cabinet engagement, and cross-organizational coordination to ensure the continued growth, impact, and financial success of JABC’s flagship recognition and fundraising initiative.
Qualifications and Competencies
Education and Experience
- A post-secondary degree in a relevant field such as Business Administration, Non-Profit Management, or Fundraising; advanced credentials (e.g., CFRE) or an equivalent combination of education and experience is an asset.
- 10-15 years of progressive leadership experience in fundraising, revenue generation, or business development, preferably in the non-profit or corporate sectors.
- Proven success in developing and implementing innovative revenue strategies with measurable outcomes.
- Demonstrated ability to lead and inspire high-performing teams to achieve ambitious goals.
- Experience working with senior business leaders, strategic partners, and highnet-worth donors.
Skills and Knowledge
- Expertise in fundraising best practices, donor cultivation, stewardship, and campaign management.
- Strong knowledge of revenue diversification strategies, including corporate partnerships, major gifts, legacy giving, and government funding.
- Competency in budget management, forecasting, and performance metrics to ensure fiscal accountability.
- Proficiency in CRM platforms.

Compensation & Benefits
This is a permanent, full-time position working 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday. Some evening work may be required. The salary range for this position is $145,000 to $165,000 per annum, commensurate with experience and qualifications. JABC also offers a competitive benefits package, including extended health and dental coverage, paid vacation, and opportunities for professional development.
Work Environment
This full-time position is based in Vancouver, BC, requiring a minimum number of days per week in JABC’s downtown office, with the flexibility to work remotely on other days. Occasional travel may be required to meet with stakeholders, attend meetings, events and organizational activities.
