Volunteers for Creative Writing Workshops for Children

Who We Are

Story Planet is a nonprofit in Toronto that runs arts-based creative writing workshops for students in priority TDSB schools. We help young people in grades 3–8 write stories, comics, and scripts, while building confidence, creativity, and a love of reading and writing.

What We're Looking For

As a workshop volunteer, you’ll work with kids aged 7–13—sometimes one-on-one, sometimes in small groups—helping them create, write, and share their ideas.

Workshops happen during school hours, mostly in schools around Jane-Finch and Scarborough, but also in other parts of the city.

We're seeking volunteers who are:

• Comfortable working with kids and ready to dive in
• Creative, encouraging, and positive
• Punctual and dependable

Please begin by completing our online application!

You will also need to perform a Vulnerable Sector Screening (required to work with children in TDSB schools) and attend an online training session. We will supply more details at your interview.
