Volunteer Tutor-Literacy
Position: Volunteer Tutor Location: Remote Time Commitment: 3 hours per week Duration: Minimum 6 months
Overview: We are looking for dedicated volunteers to help tutor adults in our literacy, reading and writing, classes. We offer literacy classes every Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday from 1:30 pm to 4:30 pm. You can choose to volunteer on one or more days. We are seeking dedicated volunteers to assist with tutoring adults in our literacy, reading and writing, classes. Classes are held on Tuesday and Wednesday, and on Thursday from 1:30 pm to 4:30 pm. Volunteers are welcome to choose one or more days to participate. Responsibilities:
• Assist in tutoring 1-1 or small groups of 2-3 adults in basic reading and writing skills.
• Support learners with hands-on practice and encourage active participation.
• Provide constructive feedback to help participants enhance their reading and writing abilities.
• Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment.
Qualifications:
• Strong proficiency in reading and writing.
• Previous teaching or tutoring experience is preferred but not required.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Patience and enthusiasm for helping others develop literacy skills.
