Volunteer Steering Committee Member (Moncton/Mississauga/Toronto/Vancouver/Winnipeg)
3-Year Term with Option to Renew Winter 2026 - Spring 2029
Position Overview
Together Project, a MakeWay Charitable Society Initiative, is in a growth phase and is seeking new members to join its Steering Committee. We are looking for strategic thinkers and team players that are passionate about building welcoming communities and ensuring the impact and sustainability of Together Project.
About Together Project
Together Project connects refugee newcomers and volunteers to build stronger, more integrated communities. Our Welcome Group Program matches volunteers with newly arrived refugees and refugee claimants for 3-6 months of social and integration support. With guidance from Together Project staff, volunteers help newcomers overcome challenges to their integration such as practicing English, navigating services like healthcare, finding a job, engaging in education, or building social networks. The ultimate goal is the empowerment of newcomers to make progress towards their individual goals, and to provide a platform for the community to engage in that process. Together Project originated in Toronto, Ontario, and has recently expanded nationally, with additional staff and programs in British Columbia, Manitoba, and New Brunswick. Together Project is a charitable initiative on the MakeWay Shared Platform.
