Volunteer Services Student Placement

Position Title: Volunteer Services Assistant

Placement Type: Hybrid

Location: 3333 Finch Ave East

Start Date: Tuesday September 02, 2025

End Date: Friday December 19, 2025

Placement Hours: Monday – Friday 10:30 am – 6:30 pm

Reports To: Volunteer Services Coordinator


Responsibilities: 

  • Supporting recruitment, onboarding, and orientation activities

  • Maintains Volunteer Services records

  • Facilitate consistent and engaging communication with the volunteers

  • Performing other administrative support duties



Skills & Qualifications: 

  • Must be enrolled in a Volunteer or Human Resources Management diploma or certificate program with recognized college or university

  • Previous experience in Administration or Recruitment is an asset

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and Google Workspace

  • Detail-oriented with a focus on quality and accuracy

  • Strong organization skills and accurate filing and record keeping

  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize

  • Verbal and written communication skills

  • Interpersonal skills and ability to maintain confidentiality of information

  • Analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Action-oriented and results-oriented

  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a multi-cultural team



Working Conditions:

  • Sitting in front of the computer terminal for long periods of time

  • May have frequent work interruptions

  • Working evenings and weekends is optional.


Supervision and Evaluation:

  • Supervision and support will be provided by the Volunteer Services Coordinator.



Other: 

  • Vulnerable Service Sector Check screening is mandatory.

  • Proof of full vaccination or Medical Exemption Certificate is mandatory.

  • Must be 18 years or older.



Orientation/Training:

  • Volunteer Services will conduct orientation on organization’s policies and procedures, including COVID-19 measures.

  • IPAC Mandatory training for onsite positions – conducted by Volunteer Services

  • Training: Training will be provided, including one-on-one sessions to ensure you are comfortable and confident in the role. 

  • Ongoing Support: Regular check-ins to ensure that volunteers feel supported and can provide feedback.
