Position Title: Volunteer Services Recruiter Student Placement
Volunteer Type: Hybrid
Location: 3333 Finch Ave East
Volunteer Hours: Monday – Friday 10:30am – 6:30pm
Volunteers Needed: 2
Reports to: Volunteer Services Coordinator
Start Date: January 05, 2026
Position Summary
Placement students will be working alongside the Volunteer Services Coordinator and the Team Lead for Recruitment to help in the areas of recruitment and hiring process and administrative duties. Students may also be asked to assist the Human Resources Department with administrative duties and may be asked to meet new applicants/volunteers on site to assist with onboarding document collection.
Responsibilities
- Assists in recruitment and hiring process
- Conducts resume screening, telephone screening, and background checking.
- Booking interviews and scheduling orientation session
- Completes administrative duties for Volunteer Services Department
- Collects and uploads new volunteer/students' documents and ensures all information is current and maintained in all databases.
- Schedules training and orientation with new volunteers/students.
- Assists the Human Resources Department with any administrative tasks if needed.
Skills & Qualifications
- Knowledge of Human Resources Management, experience working in HR or enrolled in an HR Management program.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, specifically Word, Excel and PowerPoint and Google Drive
- Strong organization skills and accurate filing and record keeping
- Ability to multi-task and prioritize.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Good interpersonal skills and ability to maintain confidentiality of information.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a multi-cultural team.
Working Environment
- Primarily office environment, common facility areas (indoor /outdoor)
- Sitting in front of computer terminal for long periods of time
- May have frequent work interruptions
Orientation & Training
- Volunteer Services will provide an orientation covering organizational policies and procedures, including COVID-19 safety measures.
- Completion of IPAC Mandatory Training is required for all onsite positions.
- Organizational training will be provided for all new volunteers.
- Position-specific training and orientation will be conducted by the direct supervisor.
Supervision & Evaluation
- Supervision and support will be provided by the Volunteer Services Coordinator.
Other Requirements
- Currently enrolled in an accredited post-secondary program
- Vulnerable Service Sector Check screening required.
- Proof of full vaccination or Medical Exemption Certificate
- Must be 18 years or older.
