JOB SUMMARYReporting to the Director of Human Resources, the Volunteer Services Coordinator provides support in the planning, implementation and delivery of the Mount St. Mary Hospital Volunteer Team. &nbsp;This is a part-time (0.6) position, working three (3) days a week at 7.5 hours per day.&nbsp;&nbsp;JOB DUTIES &amp; RESPONSIBILITIES<ul><li>Maintains the administrative functions of Volunteers Services.&nbsp;</li><li>Establishes collaborative relationships with residents, staff, family members, visitors, visiting clergy and volunteers to determine volunteer opportunities and requirements.&nbsp;</li><li>Schedules volunteers for daily, weekly and monthly programs.&nbsp;</li><li>Ensures all shifts are filled with appropriately trained volunteers.&nbsp;</li><li>Maintains confidential electronic and paper records for volunteers relating to their recruitment, selection, criminal record checks, training, placement, and references.</li><li>Assists with volunteer recruitment through advertising, planning, attendance at volunteer fairs and processing intake applications.</li><li>Delivers the Volunteer Orientation Program.</li><li>Supports MSMH programs and services by arranging supplies and support materials, creating schedules, and assists with planning logistics.</li><li>Assists with volunteer recognition activities including our annual recognition event.&nbsp;</li><li>Provides input into the Volunteer Services budget.</li><li>Generates quarterly reports of volunteer activities.</li><li>Performs other related duties as required.</li></ul>ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIPSInternal<ul><li>Residents, families,&nbsp;staff, volunteers and&nbsp;visitors.</li><li>Member&nbsp;of the Mission Team and Integrated Quality Management&nbsp;Team.</li><li>Leader, Spiritual Care, Resident Care&nbsp;Team, CEO and Directors, Resident Care, Finance, Support Services and Philanthropy&nbsp;&amp; Communications.</li></ul>External&nbsp;<ul><li>Community agencies including Volunteer&nbsp;Victoria.</li><li>Various volunteer recruitment partners including&nbsp;the University&nbsp;of Victoria, Camosun College&nbsp;etc.</li></ul>QUALIFICATIONSEducation, Training and Experience:<ul><li>An undergraduate degree in a related field.</li><li>Experience related to volunteer recruitment and retention.</li><li>One to three (1-3) years of recent related experience in a health care setting, working with volunteers and assisting at events.&nbsp;</li><li>Equivalency of education, training and experience may be considered.&nbsp;</li><li>Experience with Microsoft Office products and Better Impact Volunteer Management software is preferred.</li></ul>Skills and Abilities:<ul><li>Strong administrative, organizational and coordination skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities, maintain accurate records, coordinate schedules and activities, and complete administrative tasks with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.</li><li>Effective interpersonal communication, facilitation, teamwork&nbsp;and supervisory&nbsp;skills.</li><li>Sensitivity&nbsp;to cultural and diversity&nbsp;of residents&nbsp;and family members, volunteers&nbsp;and staff members.</li><li>Stress management skills&nbsp;and ability to maintain&nbsp;a healthy balance&nbsp;of empathy&nbsp;and&nbsp;self-care.</li><li>Ability&nbsp;to train&nbsp;and supervise volunteers.</li><li>Ability&nbsp;to operate related&nbsp;equipment.</li><li>Effective and appropriate verbal and written communication skills.</li><li>Strong commitment to volunteerism with experience as a volunteer.&nbsp;</li><li>Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position.</li></ul>Interested candidates may send their resume and cover letter to <a href="mailto:HR@mountstmary.ca" target="_blank">HR@mountstmary.ca</a> with attention: HR Director - Volunteer Services Coordinator in the subject line. &nbsp;This position will remain open until filled. &nbsp;
