About Us:

Save the Water™ is a U.S.-based nonprofit organization whose mission is to conduct water research to identify and remove harmful contaminants in water; and to raise public awareness about water contamination and its health impacts. STW™ also offers educational programs to excite young minds about water science.

Our volunteers are diverse professionals from all over the world bringing their knowledge and experience to STW™ because we care deeply about our communities and water resources. Project Leaders are expected to put in a minimum of 8 hours per week and be responsive to emails within 36 hours.

SUMMARY:

This role is required to work with leadership preparing the accreditation for the microbiology laboratory. A Project Leader should be able to maintain quality, safety and control standards.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manage laboratory accreditations and licensing requirements.
  • Work with the National Environmental Laboratory Accreditation Program (NELAP) to get our Lab accreditation.
  • Connect with Internal/External stakeholders on matters related to the accreditation.
  • Maintain all required records for operations, licensing, and accreditations.
  • Develop and ensure compliance with company policies, standard operating procedures and test methods.
  • Lead a team to get the job done efficiently and effectively.
  • Attend weekly/monthly meetings as per schedule.

EXPERIENCE/REQUIREMENTS:

  • Demonstrated ability to handle multiple projects and details simultaneously.
  • Bachelor’s degree completed or equivalent work experience (at least 3 years or more full time paid corporate/non - profit work experience)
  • Bachelor’s degree in biology.
  • Technical competence in analytical chemistry and/or microbiology.
  • Experience in Laboratory management.
  • Microbiological experience required.
  • Good analytical skills and willingness to learn.
  • Good oral and written communication skills.
  • Focused attention to detail and critical thinking.
