ACCESS Business Lab
Our Business Lab is a free online workshop series for early-stage entrepreneurs interested in launching businesses. The workshop series equips participants with the tools and skills needed to launch and run profitable businesses. Participants receive training in business essentials and coaching to develop their ideas into viable business plans. Topics covered range from ideation, marketing, finance, taxes, AI and more.
Role and Responsibilities
The role of the workshop facilitators is to develop and present specialized content related to business. Topics are geared to early-stage entrepreneurs with limited to no business training. Workshops are about two-and-a-half-hours and should be educational and engaging.
ACCESS provides input and support to our workshop facilitators on general training topics that would be relevant to the needs of our clients. We, however, welcome the expertise of each volunteer to develop and design individual training sessions.
Key Responsibilities
- Workshop facilitators assist with developing content and facilitating two-and-a-half-hour workshops on Artificial Intelligence and how to effectively utilize it to develop business plans and for business operations management.
- Artificial Intelligence workshops are geared to participants in the early stages of developing and launching their business ideas, who often have limited to no prior formal business training or knowledge of AI.
- Workshop facilitators are to be mindful of the diversity of the participants who may not be at the same level of experience and knowledge in order to ensure they find a balance that meets all at the level they are, without leaving anyone behind.
Skills & Qualifications
- Experience as an entrepreneur, business owner/advisor or in a business environment.
- Possess knowledge of AI Platforms and applicability to business ideation and operations management.
- Experience delivering business or financial workshops/webinars for small businesses and the general public would be an asset.
- Strong communication, interpersonal & presentation skills.
- Experience working with diverse cultural and socio-economic groups.
- A second language is an asset.
Time Commitment
- A minimum 6 months commitment is required.
- Workshops are between two-and-two and half hours.
- Workshop facilitators can expect to participate in two or more presentations per year.
