About Us

The Black Canadian Child and Family Services Society (BCCFSS) is dedicated to

strengthening Black families and supporting the healthy development of Black children and

youth. Through culturally grounded programs, mentorship, and family supports, we create spaces

where young people can build confidence, explore their potential, and feel a strong sense of

belonging in their communities.

Position Overview

BCCFSS is seeking passionate Volunteer Youth Program Facilitators to support programs

designed to empower youth through mentorship, skill-building, and positive community

engagement.

Volunteers will help facilitate discussions and activities that encourage youth to develop

leadership skills, critical thinking, self-confidence, and strong connections to community.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate or support youth workshops, group discussions, and activities

• Help create a safe and supportive space where youth feel comfortable expressing themselves

• Encourage youth participation, collaboration, and leadership

• Assist with planning and preparing program activities and materials

• Support youth in developing confidence, communication, and problem-solving skills

• Work collaboratively with staff and volunteers to deliver engaging programming

Ideal Candidates

We welcome volunteers with experience or interest in:

• Child and Youth Work

• Social Work

• Education or Teaching

• Community Development

• Psychology or Youth Mentorship

Students and professionals who are passionate about supporting youth leadership and

community empowerment are strongly encouraged to apply.

Skills and Qualities

• Strong communication and facilitation skills

• Positive and encouraging approach when working with youth

• Cultural awareness and commitment to equity and inclusion

• Ability to engage youth in meaningful conversations and activities

• Reliability and teamwork

Time Commitment

Flexible volunteer opportunities available for weekday or weekend programming.
