
Volunteer Merchandise Specialist - Strategy
Who We Are
Seaside Sustainability is a nonprofit organization based in Gloucester, Massachusetts. Seaside Sustainability's mission is to protect and restore our oceans by educating people of all ages about the critical issues that threaten our environment; promoting best practices for sustainability; and inspiring meaningful advocacy and hands-on action. Seaside works with schools, cities and towns, environmental groups, technology companies, and individuals. Together, we strive to ensure the healthy future of oceans, rivers, wetlands, and estuaries around the world.
Who You Are
We are looking for a volunteer who has knowledge and experience (1+ years) in the strategic side of merchandising. The ideal candidate will help build a new retail strategy for Seaside’s e-commerce store, and they should be comfortable working in an ambiguous environment with the opportunity to shape a merchandise strategy from the ground up.
Ideal candidates may have competencies in some or all of the following:
- Retail strategy development and assortment planning
- Market research and consumer demand analysis
- Inventory management, with emphasis on low-inventory retail models
- Sustainable sourcing and materials knowledge
- Familiarity with e-commerce merchandising platforms
- Data-driven decision making
Additional Information
As a volunteer merchandise specialist, you will be working closely with the Executive Director and dedicated merchandise design specialist.
Duration
- Availability for 10 hours per week (flexible)
