Become a mentor with Futurpreneur

Are you passionate about giving back, sharing your experience and helping others reach their goals? Join us as a Volunteer Mentor (unpaid) and make a lasting impact on the lives of young entrepreneurs.

Why mentor with us?

As a volunteer mentor, you’ll play a vital role in guiding, encouraging and supporting young entrepreneurs in a two-year relationship as they navigate their business journey. By sharing your experience, knowledge and insights, you’ll build a meaningful connection, empowering mentees to strengthen confidence, overcome challenges and reach their entrepreneurial goals.

What will you do:

  • Build a trusting and positive relationship with your assigned entrepreneur mentee.
  • Provide encouragement, accountability and constructive feedback.
  • Share your experience, advice and practical guidance.
  • Help them set realistic goals and track progress over time.
  • Align with Futurpreneur’s values, modelling professionalism and respecting confidentiality.

Who we're looking for:

We welcome seasoned professionals and entrepreneurs from diverse communities who are passionate about giving back to the next generation of startup founders.

As an Entrepreneur:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience running a business.
  • Strong understanding of the Canadian startup ecosystem.

As a Professional:

  • Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in business leadership, product launches, or team management.
  • Strong knowledge of the Canadian business landscape.

Mentors must reside in Canada, have knowledge of the Canadian business landscape and align with Futurpreneur’s values. In all cases, there should be no conflicts of interest (hierarchical, financial or familial) with mentees.

Time commitment

  • Approximately 2-4 hours per month over a two-year period to build a trusting 1:1 mentorship relationship
  • Flexible schedule, arranged directly with your mentee (virtual, possibility of in-person depending on location).

What’s in it for you?

As a Futurpreneur Mentor, you’ll have the chance to expand your professional network by joining a community of 2,200+ mentors and industry leaders across Canada. Along the way, you’ll sharpen your coaching, leadership, active listening and communication skills, build meaningful connections with young entrepreneurs and fellow mentors, and contribute to Futurpreneur’s mission.

Whether you’re a first-time or seasoned mentor, our dedicated mentoring team will provide you with ongoing support and tools during your mentor journey.

  • Structured onboarding: Qualifying interview, mentorship onboarding and mentoring style assessment.
  • Mentoring resources: Ment2borientation, check-ins and other tools
  • Networking opportunities: Exclusive LinkedIn group and monthly mentor webinars.
