VOLUNTEER MANAGEMENT TEAM RESPONSIBILITIES


ADMINISTRATIVE

Create Volunteer Register

Maintain the Register

Includes profile information and current assignment


RECRUITING

Determine hiring needs

Create and post openings
Handle responses and pass them to the hiring manager. Track process
Screen candidates and pass recommended applications to the hiring manager.
Arrange interviews. Let the candidate know the result

Participate in or conduct interviews and make recommendations on hiring


ONBOARDING

Recommend the process

Acquire or create necessary documents

Conduct Onboarding

Ensure volunteers have an assignment, and are introduced to the Team Lead


ASSIGNMENT

This is not considered to be a Volunteer Management responsibility. Managing performance is part of the Team Lead’s role

RETAINING

This is difficult in a voluntary organization.

Actions and processes have not yet been finalized.


REPORTING

This is more about the process than the volunteer.

We will not carry out formal performance reviews

We need to know the length of time a volunteer stays, our success rate in hiring etc.

We are incorporated as a non-profit organization in Ontario
