Role Purpose The Volunteer Management Lead is crucial for CRC's organizational sustainability. This role is responsible for continuously growing our volunteer base while ensuring effective onboarding, meaningful volunteer engagement, and strong retention. You will own the volunteer's relationship with CRC as an organization—ensuring consistency, belonging, and pathways for continued engagement.

Key Responsibilities Oversee the complete volunteer management cycle:

• Recruitment: Implement strategic volunteer recruitment initiatives to attract diverse, skilled volunteers aligned with CRC's mission

• Onboarding: Maintain consistent onboarding processes and standards that set volunteers up for success and improve those when necessary based on volunteers’ feedback

• Engagement: Foster an organizational culture where volunteers thrive, feel valued, and want to stay engaged

• Retention: Implement strategies to reduce volunteer attrition and maintain high satisfaction levels

• Exit: Manage thoughtful offboarding processes and gather feedback for continuous improvement

Additional responsibilities include:

• Lead the strategy for building and sustaining the CRC's long-term volunteer capacity through innovative recruitment and consistent, high-quality standards

• Oversee the development and implementation of robust volunteer management governance frameworks and a comprehensive code of conduct, ensuring organizational sustainability and ethical practices

• Provide strategic analysis of volunteer metrics, satisfaction, and engagement to inform capacity planning and long-term organizational strategy

• Serve as a strategic partner to project leads, aligning volunteer resources with organizational needs to maximize impact and project success across the CRC

Required Qualifications

• Previous experience in volunteer management or coordination

• Self-starter with the ability to work independently and take initiative

• Comfortable working within an ambiguous, rapidly evolving environment

• Strong time management and organizational skills

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

• Strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities

Nice-to-Have Qualifications
• Background in nonprofit or community-based organizations

• Interest in climate adaptation, climate resilience, community empower and data & AI

• Experience developing policies, frameworks, or governance documents

Key Deliverables & Success Metrics
• Operationalize and implement the volunteer management framework

• Improve volunteer management governance and code of conduct documentation

• Reduce volunteer attrition rate by 50%

• Increase volunteer satisfaction to 4.5/5 or higher
