At hEr VOLUTION, we are a not-for-profit organization that is passionate about uplifting young girls and non-conforming youth in STEM. In the Volunteer Graphic Designer/Photo Editor role, you will be making a positive difference within the Marketing Committee.

Position Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented and creative Volunteer Graphic Designer/Photo Editor to help enhance and prepare images for use across digital and print platforms. You will be part of the marketing committee working closely with other teams. This is your opportunity to develop your portfolio while still developing your graphic design/photo editing skills while contributing your creative skills to a meaningful cause.

What You’ll Do

• Edit photos for social sharing each week
• Stay on top of social trends and editing styles
• Collaborate with other individuals in the marketing, fundraising and programming team to create engaging content
• Determine ideal usage of color, layout, typography, and imagery to ensure materials align with brand identity and engage target audiences.
• Create visual concepts using computer software to communicate ideas that inspires, informs, and captivates our audience
• Manage projects from concept to final, print-ready or digital-ready files, adhering to deadlines and budget constraints.
• Minimum 1 year commitment

Qualifications

• Passionate about STEM and youth
• Proficiency in Adobe Suite, Canva or other photo editing software
• Experience editing for Instagram/Facebook/LinkedIn/X
• Ability to meet deadlines and work independently
• Quick turnaround time (24–72 hours)
• Ability to take feedback and make changes to content as necessary
• Align with the hEr VOLUTION brand during content development
• Strong ability to communicate with others
• Existing portfolio demonstrating creative, high-quality, and diverse design work.

• Able to take written or spoken ideas and convert them into a design that connects with our audience
• Produce work that stands out, builds a unique brand for hEr VOLUTION, and drives measurable results (e.g., increased engagement, better brand perception).
• Build trust through high-quality design that communicates professionalism resulting in better brand perception
• Create designs that guide the user’s eye and minimize friction, with a goal of boosting clicks and other engagement metrics.
• Act as a partner who offers, and sometimes challenges, ideas to better serve the goal.
• Strong ability to align with the hEr VOLUTION brand
