About us
Devxchange International is a Canadian registered charity that connects Canadian volunteers with our international development projects, delivered in cooperation with local partner organizations around the world.

What you will do

  • Join our pool of volunteer grant writers, supporting projects that need writing help
  • Write, edit, and polish grant proposal drafts as assigned by the Grants Coordinator
  • Base your draft on the project's existing campaign page and its approved annual budget, working collaboratively with the project lead as needed
  • Deliver a first draft within an agreed turnaround (typically 5 business days of being assigned)
  • Take on requests matched to your strengths (e.g., government application forms, foundation narrative proposals, or general grant writing)
  • Communicate promptly with the Grants Coordinator about your availability and workload
  • Final sign-off rests with the Grants Coordinator, who reviews every draft against a CRA-compliance checklist before submission

What we are looking for

  • Experience or strong interest in grant writing or persuasive/fundraising writing
  • Excellent written communication skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
  • Comfort collaborating with a project lead to understand and represent their project accurately
  • Experience in the non-profit sector is an asset, but not required

Why join us?

  • Opportunity to make a meaningful impact through volunteer work
  • Gain valuable grant writing experience across a variety of projects and funders
  • Flexible working conditions — pick up requests as your availability allows
  • Collaborative and supportive team environment
