About Us:

Canadian Center for Women’s Empowerment (CCFWE) is a national registered non-profit organization dedicated to empowering domestic violence survivors to recover from economic abuse through awareness, education, and policy change. We work in partnership to ensure women have access to and control over their own economic resources. We focus on four strategic priorities: economic empowerment and financial equity; education and awareness; research on economic abuse; and policy influencing and system change. Our aim is to ensure that policy and practice recognize economic abuse so that victim-survivors are supported to achieve economic justice and abusers are held accountable for their behaviour.

Are you passionate about international engagement and raising awareness of economic abuse?

CCFWE is seeking two (2) committed and enthusiastic volunteer to support global outreach for International Economic Abuse Awareness Day and related initiatives.

The volunteer will help build and strengthen relationships with organizations, advocates, researchers, government representatives, financial institutions, and community leaders across different countries. This role will focus on encouraging international participation, supporting outreach activities, and helping expand the global movement to address economic abuse.

Responsibilities

• Research and identify potential partners, organizations, networks, and country representatives working on economic abuse, gender-based violence, financial inclusion, women’s economic security, and human rights.
• Contact organizations and international stakeholders to introduce CCFWE’s international outreach and engagement activities.
• Encourage countries, organizations, and community leaders to participate in International Economic Abuse Awareness Day.
• Support outreach for global events, campaigns, webinars, and other international engagement activities.
• Develop and maintain positive relationships with international partners.
• Schedule introductory meetings and support follow-up communications with potential partners.
• Maintain an organized outreach database, including contact information, responses, commitments, and follow-up actions.
• Support the preparation and distribution of outreach emails, invitations, partnership materials, and campaign information.
• Assist participating organizations and country representatives by providing information about how they can become involved.
• Attend regular check-in meetings and provide updates on outreach progress.
• Complete an agreed-upon work plan and meet key campaign deadlines.
• Support other related outreach and engagement activities as required.

Qualifications

• Post-secondary education or relevant experience in social work, human rights, international development, public policy, marketing, communications, community development, or a related field. Equivalent professional, academic, or volunteer experience will also be considered.
• Experience with community outreach, partnership development, stakeholder engagement, relationship -building, communications, or event coordination.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Confidence in communicating with people from different countries, cultures, and professional backgrounds.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills.
• Ability to manage multiple contacts, tasks, and deadlines.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating with a remote team.
• Knowledge of economic abuse, gender-based violence, women’s economic empowerment, or financial inclusion is an asset.
• Experience working in a nonprofit, international, or community-based environment is an asset.
• Additional language skills are an asset.

Level of Commitment

Location: Remote

Time Commitment: Approximately 10 hours per week

Duration: September 1 to December 15, 2026

Schedule: Flexible, with consistent weekly participation

Requirements: Timely communication, attendance at agreed-upon meetings, and a strong commitment to completing outreach responsibilities and meeting campaign deadlines
