Volunteer Job Posting: Fundraising, Marketing & Communications

Position: Fundraising/MarComms Committee Member

Are you passionate about making a positive impact on the community by supporting those experiencing grief and loss? Lighthouse, a dedicated Grief Training and Resource Centre, is seeking enthusiastic individuals to join our Fundraising, Marketing and Communications Committee. As a Committee Member, you will play an important role in ensuring Lighthouse has the resources necessary to provide on-going delivery of services to grieving children in our communities.

Key Responsibilities:


• Contribute to the development of the annual fundraising strategy and budget to ensure sufficient income is generated to meet the operating needs of Lighthouse


• Monitor the fundraising plan against the budget monthly throughout the year
• Offer input and guidance on marketing and communications activities to help ensure

maximum impact and reach
• Engage in monthly meetings and collaborate with the Executive Director & Marketing

Manager on social media strategy, Grief Awareness month communications, marketing and communications materials, donor stewardship, etc.

Preferred Qualifications:


• Experience in marketing, communications, event planning and/or fundraising
• Demonstrated leadership and communication skills
• Ability to collaborate with diverse stakeholders and community members
• A sincere desire to support the Lighthouse organization and our children and families
• Availability for monthly meetings and fundraising events
• Experience working with not-for-profit or charity organizations would be an asset

Commitment:


• Minimum of 2-year, maximum of 6-year commitment
• Monthly online committee meetings from September to June with the occasional in-

person meeting to replace a virtual meeting as arranged by the committee Chair in conversation with the committee.
