Volunteer Fundraising Lead (Finally Home Cat Rescue – Richmond Hill

Area)

Role Overview We are a small, passionate cat rescue dedicated to saving and rehoming cats in the Greater Toronto Area. We are seeking a Volunteer Fundraising Lead to manage the development and execution of fundraising initiatives to support critical veterinary care and rescue operations.

This role is ideal for someone proactive, creative, and driven to make a meaningful impact in animal welfare.

Time Commitment
• 3–5 hours per week (minimum)
• Flexible schedule, remote with occasional local coordination (if applicable)

Key Responsibilities Fundraising Strategy & Execution

• Develop and implement ongoing fundraising strategies (monthly giving, campaigns, events)

• Identify new revenue streams (sponsorships, partnerships, private donations, online campaigns)

• Set fundraising goals and track progress against targets Campaign Management

• Plan and execute fundraising campaigns (e.g., emergency medical fundraisers, Giving Tuesday, seasonal drives)

• Create compelling messaging and storytelling to drive donations
• Coordinate donation appeals across platforms

Website & Digital Presence
• Manage and update website fundraising pages in conjunction with our Webmaster

(donation links, campaigns, impact stories)
• Collaborate on SEO and content improvements to increase visibility

Donor Engagement
• Build and maintain relationships with donors
• Develop donor communication strategies (thank-you messages, updates, impact

reports)
• Encourage recurring donations and donor retention

Collaboration
• Work closely with rescue leadership and volunteers to identify funding needs (e.g., vet

bills, medical cases)
• Coordinate with cat content creator volunteers to align campaigns

Qualifications & Skills Required

• Experience with fundraising (non-profit, events, campaigns, or digital fundraising)
• Basic website management experience (e.g., Wix or similar)
• Strong written communication and storytelling skills
• Self-motivated with a strong sense of ownership and accountability
• Passion for animal welfare and rescue work

Preferred
• Experience with donor platforms (e.g., Canada Helps, GoFundMe)
• Knowledge of digital marketing, email campaigns, or social media fundraising
• Experience applying for grants or sponsorships
