PSSO Volunteer Support Group Facilitator
About the Role
As a Support Group Facilitator, you will lead monthly in-person support group meetings for individuals living with Parkinson’s and their care partners. You will foster open discussion, encourage peer support, and help reduce isolation within the community.
Key Responsibilities
- Facilitate and plan monthly support group meetings (including set-up, refreshments, speakers, and clean-up)
- Create a welcoming, respectful, and confidential group environment
- Establish and review group guidelines and goals
- Provide attendance records and track volunteer hours
- Collaborate with PSSO staff to connect participants with information, resources, and referrals
- Participate in ongoing training and development opportunities
- Promote PSSO programs, events, and fundraising initiatives

- Empower participants with knowledge and resources to play an active role in their care
Commitment: 2-5 hours per month (approx. 1-2 hours admin time) | Minimum 1-year commitment
