Background

The Digital Sexual Violence Support Centre (DSVSC) is planning a hybrid conference that engages lived experience experts (survivors), community advocates, service providers, legal professionals, policymakers and educators, in a collaborative environment to co-create and build on promising practices to address technology-facilitated sexual violence (TFSV). This conference will take place the week of May 10 to May 16, 2026 and will most likely be held in Toronto, Ontario.

We are seeking 3 to 4 event volunteers who will help plan and execute this conference. All selected volunteers will receive an honorarium for their time. Candidates must be a current resident in Canada.

**Candidates who reside in the Greater Toronto Area are preferred

Commitment: March 2026 to May 2026

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Liaise with venues and corporate sponsors
  • Provide clear directions to our TFSV conference attendees and speakers, ensuring that folks are accessing the correct spaces at the right times
  • Support the set-up of the conference including carrying boxes, presentation stands, and related materials
  • Provide on-site logistics support include setting up and taking down the AV equipment
  • Help prepare the lunch table for the conference attendees
  • Ensure a smooth registration and entry process for event attendees, speakers, vendors and related guests
  • Create lists to document the dietary requirements and allergies of attendees
  • Respond to questions posed by the event attendees and speakers
  • Help prepare and distribute conference goodie bags
  • Help pack up equipment, chairs, tables and related materials after the conference day has ended
  • Prepare event follow-up thank you letters and related materials for the TFSV conference speakers and related supporters

Skills and Qualifications

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
  • Previous experience supporting events coordination and implementation
  • Studies in event coordination, event management or fundraising preferred
  • Strong time management skillls and multi-tasking capabilities
