Volunteer Title: Education and Exhibit Program Assistant

Volunteer Job Description

Position Summary & Job Purpose:

As the Education and Exhibit Program Assistant, you will play a supportive and collaborative role assisting both the Sr. Education Coordinator and the Virtual Exhibit Curator Coordinator in the development of engaging educational resources and dynamic virtual exhibits. You will help ensure the effective delivery of both programs and contribute to preserving and sharing the history of Pride in Canada. This role also serves as a developmental and succession role to prepare for future advancement into either of the two coordinator positions.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Support the development of K–12 educational resources and compile recommended teaching materials.

• Assist with research on Pride history and review of regional social studies curricula.

• Help plan and curate digital content for virtual exhibits in collaboration with the exhibit team.

• Coordinate shared timelines and deliverables across education and exhibit projects.

• Participate in team meetings, take notes, and assist with administrative tasks.

• Ensure consistency, accessibility, and inclusion in all educational and exhibit materials.

Qualifications:

• Education or experience in Education, Museum Studies, History, Digital Media, or a related field.

• Experience supporting educational or cultural heritage projects.

• Strong research, writing, and organizational skills.

• Ability to manage multiple tasks and work independently.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and digital collaboration tools.

• Familiarity with WordPress and multimedia tools is an asset.
