Volunteer Description
We are seeking reliable volunteers to help select and transport weekly food donations from the Greater Vancouver Food Bank (GVFB) to YWCA Cindy Beedie Place as part of the GVFB Community Market Program.
Your support helps ensure that mothers and children in our housing community have access to nutritious food each week. This role is a meaningful way to directly support families and strengthen community wellbeing.

Volunteer Responsibilities
- Drive from YWCA Cindy Beedie Place to the Greater Vancouver Food Bank and return with food supplies.
- Load large boxes and tote bins of food onto a cart and into your vehicle.
- Transport food safely back to YWCA Cindy Beedie Place.
- Work alongside a Community Development Coordinator, who will assist with unloading upon arrival.
- If interested, stay and help sort and distribute food to residents.
Requirements
- Access to a reliable vehicle that can accommodate at least six large tote bins.
- Ability to lift and move heavy boxes and bins of food.
- Ability to commit to Wednesday mornings on most weeks.
- Proof of valid drivers license and car insurance will be required.
We are sorry but we cannot reimburse for gas and other vehicle expenses.
