About Us
Ottawa Therapy Dogs is a community-focused charity dedicated to providing therapy dog visits at pre-approved facilities throughout the National Capital Region. Through our canine-assisted interventions, our volunteer handlers work with their own dogs to provide comfort and relief to individuals who need it most.
Donor support plays a vital role in our work, and we are seeking a reliable volunteer to assist with donation administration and donor database management.
The Role
As a Donations Administrator Volunteer, you will help ensure donor information is accurate, donations are processed correctly, and supporters are acknowledged in a timely and thoughtful way.
Key Responsibilities
Record and process donations accurately
Maintain and update donor records within our donor management system
Assist with donor acknowledgements and thank-you communications
Support basic donation and donor reporting
Handle donor data securely and confidentially
Provide general administrative support related to fundraising activities
Skills & Experience
Experience working with donor databases or CRM systems is required. (We use Canada Helps DMS.)
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
Comfort working with data, spreadsheets, and online tools
Basic administrative and computer skills
Understanding of confidentiality and data privacy best practices
Nonprofit or fundraising experience is an asset
A Criminal Police Record Check will be required for the successful candidate.
