
Volunteer Corporate Outreach Coordinator
Hand Up Toronto is a volunteer-run charitable organization which aims to support families experiencing food insecurity through the provision of food hampers, basic necessities and information about community resources.
Purpose:
Hand Up from Hunger is seeking a passionate and proactive volunteer to help drive our mission forward by building strong relationships with sponsors, donors, and community partners. With a focus on outreach and engagement, this role is ideal for someone with a background in sales, fundraising, or community relations who is excited to use those skills to support a nonprofit cause.
Summary:
As a Corporate Outreach Coordinator, you’ll be a key member of our fundraising and engagement team. Your primary role will be to identify and connect with potential sponsors, corporate partners, and supporters who align with our mission. This volunteer position is perfect for someone who loves connecting with people, is goal-oriented, and wants to make a tangible difference in their community through relationship-building and strategic outreach in the nonprofit sector.

Key Responsibilities:
- Proactively identify and generate new leads for potential sponsorship and partnership opportunities.
- Gain a deep understanding of our organization's goals and align them with the objectives of prospective partners.
- Cultivate and maintain strong, lasting relationships with current and potential partners.
- Represent and promote HUT’s mission through various communication channels, including phone, email, and face-to-face interactions.
- Maintain thorough and accurate records of all partnership activities and communications.
- Assist in the creation and execution of strategies for corporate outreach and engagement.
- Assist in developing partnership proposals, presentations, and outreach materials.
- Oversee the ongoing management of partner relationships to ensure mutual success.
- Collaborate closely with internal teams to spot new opportunities and track progress towards partnership goals and deliverables.
Qualifications:
- Outreach/Sales/Fundraising Experience – Prior experience in sales, donor relations, or community engagement is highly valued.
- Strong Communication Skills – Ability to clearly and confidently engage with individuals and organizations through written, verbal, and in-person communication.
- Relationship Building – Demonstrated ability to build rapport and maintain positive, long-term relationships with stakeholders.
- Strategic Thinking – Ability to understand organizational goals and align them with partnership opportunities.
- Organizational Skills – Detail-oriented with the ability to keep accurate records and manage multiple outreach efforts simultaneously.
- Team Collaboration – Willingness to work closely with internal teams, contribute ideas, and support shared goals.
- Self-Motivated – Proactive in identifying leads, taking initiative, and following through on tasks independently.
- Professionalism – Represents the organization with integrity and enthusiasm in all interactions.

Support & Supervision:
This role reports to and is supported by the Marketing Director at Hand Up Toronto and will work closely with the whole Marketing team.
Time Commitment & Scheduling:
- Minimum commitment of 3-4 hours per week
- Weekly virtual check-ins with the Corporate Relations Team
Risks & Challenges of the Position:
As this role is primarily desk-based, we encourage you to set up an ergonomic and healthy working environment.
Due to the real-time nature of social media, quick response times and consistent presence may be required, which can be demanding. Clear communication with the team and boundaries around availability are important for maintaining a healthy balance.
